Similarly, you’ll also more than likely end up doing some traveling more personal enjoyment. Because of our busy work lives, we often don’t get to make this trips as frequent as we would like. These vacations are a great way for us to kick back, relax, and recharge our batteries for the real world. These vacations can be as simple as taking a long weekend to an area in your current state, or as extensive as traveling to another country for a week or two of uninterrupted bliss. There’s no set limit on how far we have to venture for a vacation to take place. No matter if you’re traveling for work or personal pleasure, there’s a bit of planning that needs to take place in order for you to have a successful trip. For starters, you’ll have to figure out when your trip is going to be, book a flight or train accordingly, determine which day you’ll be back home, and then pack the appropriate amount of clothes and such to take with you. However, this is where we can start to encounter some trouble.
One of the most important aspects of any sort of travel lies within the type of luggage that you take with you. If you’re like most people, chances are you’re using a suitcase that you’ve had for 10 or 20+ years that you haven’t put any thought into of replacing any time soon. While it’s great that that suitcase has lasted you so long, you need to ask yourself this – Does my suitcase truly meet all of my needs?
Those loose wheels, finicky zipper, heavy design, and lack of enough storage space may seem like nothing more than little annoyances when you think about them on their own, but when you combine all of those together, you’re looking at a suitcase that’s no longer capable of providing you with the experience that you need for your personal and business-related travels. You might have thought about purchasing some new luggage in the past, but with so many different options to choose from, figuring out what to buy can often be incredibly difficult.

So, without any further ado, let’s take a look at what could very well be your next piece of luggage.
Travelpro Crew 10 Expandable Spinner Suiter
Airline travel is easily one of the most popular forms of getting from place to place. In our ever-increasing world of busyness, we need to make the most of our time wherever possible. Car trips may be fun, but from a time-management standpoint, they’re an utter nightmare. Thanks to the fast and convenient nature of airlines, traveling this way has become the go-to choice for those who do a tremendous amount of travel on a daily basis.
And, while the travel itself may be convenient, the rules and regulations set in place my airlines across the world are anything but. More specifically, in regards to restrictions that are placed on what items of luggage you’re able to carry-on with you during your flight. Along with being a matter of convenience, having to check your luggage can also get rather expensive very quickly – especially if you frequently travel this way. In order to avoid such fees, you need a suitcase that is able to fit within these standards that the airlines have set in place. One such suitcase comes in the form of the Travelpro Crew 10 Expandable Spinner Suiter.
Travelpro has only been in the luggage game since 1987, making them the youngest company on our list. However, despite being relatively new to the field when compared with most of the company’s competitors, they were able to craft a pretty incredible offering with the Crew 10, and are now ranked among best suitcase brands. In fact, the Crew 10 has some of the most innovation we’ve ever seen with a suitcase.
That innovation comes in the form of the company’s Magnetron system. The Magnetron system consists of a dual-wheel setup for the spinners on the suitcase, and they stay in line through the use of self-aligning magnets that Travelpro has created. The end result is a suitcase that sails like butter over virtually any surface that it comes into contact with.
Another big pro for the Crew 10 comes in its dimensions. Thanks to its compact nature, the Crew 10 is qualified as a piece of carry-on luggage with most airlines that you’ll encounter. Combine this with the Crew 10’s contoured handle for added comfort, and its surprisingly strong resilience to normal wear-and-tear, and we’re looking at what’s shaping up to be one killer offering.
While most airlines will accept the Crew 10 as an item of carry-on luggage, that doesn’t apply for every single airline out there. After reading through numerous customer reviews, it became quite apparent that the Crew 10 will need to be checked if you’re doing any international travel or flying on a shuttle flight. However, if this isn’t the case for you, you should be just fine.
Travelpro’s Crew 10 comes in at a price tag of just around $140, and that’s a pretty fair price of admission to pay if you’re some that frequents the airline for your preferred method of travel. Plus, when you factor in how much this will save you in baggage fees, it essentially pays for itself.
Samsonite Winfield 2
Your luggage should work for you. There’s no doubt about that at all. If your current suitcase or set of luggage is cramped, doesn’t roll well with its spinners, has an uncomfortable handle, is extremely heavy, and also looks incredibly outdated, it’s definitely time for you to make an upgrade. But, when it comes time for you to make that upgrade, do you know what exactly you should keep an eye out for? If it’s been a while since you’ve bought your last suitcase, you might have forgotten some of the key factors to keep in mind before plunking down your hard-earned cash.
Two of the biggest factors that we suggest people look for are the following – functionality and style. When you buy a suitcase, you need to ensure that it’s capable of doing everything that you require of it. If you do a lot of airline travel, you’ll want to make sure that it can be qualified as carry-on luggage. If you tend to pack a lot of clothes with you, you’ll absolutely want to get something with a lot of storage space. Additionally, style plays a bigger factor that you might initially think. You see, your suitcase is a representation of who you are. It’s an expression of your personality, and as a result, you should ensure that your next bit of luggage perfectly represents your own personal taste and style.
First of all, the Samsonite Winfield 2 is no strange to the functionality department. Following the popular trend that’s overtaken most luggage companies, the construction of the Winfield 2 is surprisingly lightweight. So, if you happen to be lugging your suitcase around with you for a longer period of time than you initially anticipated, you can rest easy knowing that it won’t wear you down during the process.
Additionally, Samsonite was able to make the Winfield 2 rather durable. While the whole suitcase looks and feels like it could take a beating, one of the most notable aspects is in regards to the fact that Samsonite has crafted the Winfield 2 to be able to flex when put under any amount of pressure or stress. Because of its ability to flex, the Winfield 2 is considerably less susceptible to getting dented or cracked if/when it comes into contact with unwanted pressure or impact.
And, finally, the suitcase just looks darn good. The overall appearance of the Winfield 2 is rather sleek and minimalistic, and these good looks are only highlighted by Samsonite’s use of a hard and durable material on the outside. All of this comes together to create for an appearance that is sure to attract a certain amount of attention.
With all this aid, there are a few things to keep in mind before throwing down your cash for the Winfield 2. Samsonite appears to have had some quality control issues with the Winfield 2, as a number of owners have reported that the zippers are prone to falling off, and that the handle has even been known to do the same thing.
These problems aside, Samsonite still has an incredibly functional and stylish offering on their hands and it also is one of the best hard case luggage piece. And, with a price tag of under $150, it makes for a pretty good value as well.
Samsonite Silhouette Sphere 2
No matter what kind of traveling you frequently take part in, there’s simply no avoiding the sheer amount of convenience that’s brought with spinner suitcase. Although all of the suitcases on this list are of the spinner nature, we simply wanted to take a moment to highlight just how important this overall system is to the well-being of these kinds of suitcase.
You see, pretty much any company can throw a handle and set of wheels on a suitcase and call it good. While this technically makes a suitcase that of the spinner category, it doesn’t do anything to help it out. Often times with these kinds of spinner suitcase, both the handles and wheels are not well-made or properly implemented at all. As a result, they either end up breaking under pressure or not providing for a comfortable user experience whatsoever.
Unfortunately, being able to identify these types of spinner suitcases from quality ones is becoming more and more difficult with each day that passes by. There’s recently been a huge influx in the amount of spinner suitcases that we’ve seen, making it more challenging to pick out the good from the bad. However, that’s why we’re here today.
Samsonite’s Silhouette Sphere 2 belongs to the spinner category of suitcase, but the company has done a great deal to elevate the spinner system to the next level. Rather than just throw this feature on there for the heck of it, Samsonite decide to make the whole idea of a spinner system better than we ever thought possible.
Just what did the company do to evolve the spinner? Rather than throw on a traditional pair of wheels that’s found on pretty much every other suitcase out there, Samsonite decided to create brand new line of wheels for the Silhouette Sphere 2. Those wheels go by the name of the Split Spherical Wheels, and they’re quite impressive. Each half of the wheels here are able to move in two ways – in the exact same direction, or completely independent of one another. The end result? One of the smoothest and most comfortable rolling experiences we’ve yet to encounter on a spinner suitcase. While many companies have gotten this right before, few have ever achieved a level similar to what Samsonite has done with the Silhouette Sphere 2.
As if that wasn’t enough already, Samsonite decide to go the extra mile with the Silhouette Sphere 2. The wheels of a spinner system are just half of the story. In order to pull your suitcase, you need a good handle as well. Thankfully, Samsonite decided to bring that same sense of innovation and polish to this department as well. The handle that’s being used on the Silhouette Sphere 2 is coated with a textured TPR material that’s gel-infused as well. The result? One of the most comfortable handles we’ve ever used on a spinner suitcase.
And, in an effort to go an even further mile, Samsonite has also brought the big guns in the durability department. The Silhouette Sphere 2 is home to the company’s SamGuard Protection, and it’s quite powerful. This Protection equips the suitcase with not only water-resistant coating, but also nylon fabric and protector guards on each corner that’s found on the Silhouette Sphere 2.
Samsonite Omni PC Hardside Spinner
After just a few minutes of shopping around for different items of luggage and various suitcases on the market, your wallet will more than likely get wobbly knees rather quickly. There’s no doubt at all that you shouldn’t skimp out on the quality of your luggage when you set out to purchase some new additions to add to your collection. Luggage is more of an investment than a simple purchase, and a result, you want to ensure that you put in an ample amount of time into the buying process.
However, this buying and research process might quickly have you wanting to call your bank to take out a small loan. Because of the way this industry is set up, many of the high-end, quality suitcases are priced at a rather premium price point. This doesn’t make any difference to those where money isn’t an issue, but it can be a bit off-putting to people who are on a bit of a budget.
There are cheaper options out there, but like we said, luggage is an investment. If all goes as planned, your luggage should last you a good number of years before you need to think about replacing it. Yet, if you opt for the first cheap option that you find, there’s a good chance it won’t last nearly as long as you’d expect. Unfortunately, a great deal of the more affordable options out there are made to be exactly that – cheap. That’s not to say that there aren’t affordable suitcase that are well-made, but these ones are simply a bit more difficult to find.
Thanks to our research though, we’ve done that hard work for you. If you’re trying to pinch as many pennies as possible, but still want to snag a quality suitcase, Samsonite’s Omni PC Hardside Spinner is absolutely worth your time – and dollars.
On its own with price not being a factor, the Omni PC from Samsonite is a pretty compelling offer. Samsonite is incredibly well-known for crafting durable products, and that shines through perfectly with the Omni PC. The outside of the suitcase is made to be entirely scratch-resistant, and along with this factor of durability, manages to be quite lightweight at the same time.
The Omni PC is a spinner-style suitcase, so as a result, we’ve got a classic inclusion of wheels and a handle. However, the wheels that are included here are able to spin 360-degrees, meaning that your range of movement is unparalleled to the competition. In addition to all of this, the Samsonite Omni PC also comes packed with a secure locking mechanism that’s approved by the TSA, a roomy interior for all of your clothes and other belongings, and a surprisingly sturdy handle for the spinner system.
All that on its own makes the Samsonite Omni PC sound like a pretty incredible offering, but we haven’t even mentioned what this thing sells for. Believe it or not, the Samsonite Omni PC can be yours for under $200. In fact, under $150. Not bad at all.
American Tourister Ilite Xtreme Spinner 25
As you’ll quickly learn throughout these reviews, the world of suitcases is one that seems to be ever expanding. With so many features and specifications to keep track of, determining which suitcase is the best fir for you can often be much easier said than done. If you’re in the market for a piece of luggage that’s got an incredibly lightweight construction, a stylish and attractive design, and loads of storage space in the interior, one of your best bets may just happen to come with the American Tourister Ilite Xtreme Spinner 25.
American Tourister has been around since 1933, and the company sets one of its biggest priorities on creating products that are not only well-made, but also incredibly affordable to the masses. It’s incredibly easy to pay a lot of money for a really high-end suitcase, but it’s not near as easy to get a well-built piece of luggage if you’re on a bit of a budget. Thankfully, the American Tourister Ilite Xtreme makes this quite a bit easier.
With any suitcase, one of the biggest things to look out for is a large amount of storage space to pack and secure all of your clothes and belongings. While this may seem like a no-brainer, this is often an area that people overlook when making their purchasing decision. Thankfully, the Ilite Xtreme is packed to the gills with storage space. The interior is not only fully lined, but also has plenty of packing areas and the ability to expand to allow you to fit even more clothes into said suitcase. Additionally, the Ilite Xtreme’s lightweight design makes for another great addition. Having to lug around a big and heavy suitcase isn’t fun for anyone, and American Tourister is well aware of this. Thanks to the way the Ilite Xtreme was built, this will never be an area of concern for you.
Another nice addition to the suitcase comes in regards to its design. While most suitcases on the market are dull with their appearance and color, the Ilite Xtreme comes in a variety of different color options, meaning that you shouldn’t have a hard time at all finding the perfect match for your personality!
The biggest issue facing the Ilite Xtreme lies within its durability. A number of owners have reported that the suitcase has a tendency to fray and age rather quickly when used on flights, so if you’re someone who does a lot of traveling via airline, this might not be the best pick for you. However, if you do most of your traveling by either train or car, this shouldn’t be something you’ll have to worry about at all!
American Tourister’s Ilite Xtreme comes in with a price tag of under $100, and that right there makes it an absolute steal. Although it isn’t the most durable suitcase we’ve ever encountered, the fact that American Tourister was able to pack in so much space and such a lightweight design into a package that costs under $100 is a true feat in itself.
Kenneth Cole Reaction Out of Bounds 28” 4 Wheel Upright
When you think of innovation, what market first comes to mind? Because of the direction our world has been taking over the past few years, you’re first inclination is probably that of the technology industry. Computers, the Internet, and smartphones really haven’t been around for all that long. And, as a result of their young age and ever advancing world of tech, we see constant innovations pretty much every single day. This creates for a deep sense of wonder, excitement, and overall curiosity that’s related to this field.
Now, think of the luggage industry. Samsonite is one of the oldest luggage manufacturers around. In fact, the company has been around for over 100 years. During that time, the company has set out to refine and tweak their products to get better with each new one that the company kicks out. However, because of the nature of the suitcase and other types of luggage, there’s only so much that you can do to innovate upon these products. Although they’ve gotten more durable, stylish, and lightweight over the years, it’s quite hard to find true innovation in the suitcase industry – especially in the year 2016! There’s only so much that can be done with the suitcase, and as a result, innovation seems to only trickle out every now and then.
However, because of this, it’s that much more exciting when see a company bring new life and innovative ideas to a market that so desperately needs it. Suitcases aren’t bad at all by their current standards. In fact, they’re actually quite good. Yet, even with that being the case, the market has a tendency to get a bit boring a times. The company Kenneth Cole took great note of this, and decide that it was time to do something about it. Although these guys haven’t been around for nearly as long as Samsonite or American Tourister, Kenneth Cole has created an item of luggage that has some truly unique and revolutionary qualities. That suitcase comes by the name of the Kenneth Cole Reaction Out of Bounds.
That innovation is most clearly seen with the exterior of Out of Bounds. Kenneth Cole implemented the use of an ABS material, and it allows the suitcase to have incredible levels of being both lightweight and durable at once. In addition to this, Kenneth Cole has also included added protection on all of the four corners that are found. A great combination of being lightweight and durable at the same time is a combination that can often be hard to come by in the world of luggage and suitcases, so we’re beyond thrilled to see Kenneth Cole execute this so incredible well with the Out of Bounds.
In addition to the incredible exterior, the company hasn’t skimped at all when moving to the interior of the Out of Bounds. Moving to the inside, we’re met with an interior that should allow even the biggest pack rat to cram all of their belongings and items with them when packing up for a long duration of travel. The inside is also equipped with zippered pockets and garment restraints to help you keep everything as organized as possible. Oh yeah, did we mention this price yet? All of this can be yours for just under $100. Yeah, that’s seriously impressive.
Samsonite S’Cure Spinner 28
When we travel, the last thing that we want to have to do is baby our luggage or suitcase that we bring with us on whatever trip we may be embarking on. Whether it be for business or for pure personal enjoyment, you’ve got more important things on your mind. Having to worry about the well-being of your luggage should be the last thing on your mind. Unfortunately, this often isn’t the case for a lot of products out there.
Luggage companies know that most, if not all, people place a great deal of value on their belongings. And you know what? They’re absolutely right. Whether it be clothes or expensive tech gadgets that we are bringing with us, we have a great tendency to consider all of our items and belongings to be incredibly valuable. Whether that value be personal or financial, we rely on our luggage to protect it when we set out to travel.
Unfortunately, despite grand and wonderful marketing claims, many items of luggage often fail to live up to the wild expectations that their companies set for them. While this is just bad business in the first place, it also creates for a sour experience for the end user. Just think about how disappointed you would be if you spend $100+ on a suitcase with the belief that it’s the most durable out there, and then it turns out that the thing starts falling apart you after your first or second flight.
Samsonite has taken a great note of this trend over the past few years, and has decided to do something about it with the S’Cure Spinner 28. Durability has always been one of Samsonite’s dearest mantras, and that shines through incredibly clearly with the S’Cure.
This is readily apparent by just looking at the outside of Samsonite’s S’Cure. The entire exterior is covered in a wonderful textured mold that enables the S’Cure to be ridiculously durable. While this may just sound like a typical marketing claim you’ve heard time and time again, an overwhelming number of owners of the S’Cure have attested to just how durable this product actual is when used in the real world. On top of physical durability, Samsonite has also placed a great deal of focus on personal security with the S’Cure.
Protecting our belongings from the harsh elements of the outside world is just half of the story. And, unfortunately, that other half is much darker. As sad as it is, thefts occur far too frequently throughout airports and train stations. It’s an unpleasant thing to think about, but it’s the cold, hard truth. So, in an effort to help keep you as secure as possible, Samsonite has included a locking mechanism on the S’Cure that’s approved for use by the TSA. Along with keeping your inner items secure and safe, it’ll also safe you a great deal of hassle when taking this thing through various terminals at the airport.
Factor all of this with rubber gaskets that repel any unwanted moisture or dirt, a very healthy amount of storage space inside, and a price point of under $200, and we’re looking at one rugged, durable, and secure travel companion.
Skyway Luggage Mirage Superlight
When you bought your first suitcase, you probably didn’t put a great deal of thought into how much it weighed. Like most people, you probably bought whatever looked the biggest, as you were hoping to be able to pack as much stuff as possible in it. While you more than likely did gain a heap of interior storage space, you also got a suitcase that’s not only big and bulky, but also probably insanely heavy.
There’s been a big push in the suitcase industry as of late for lightweight and compact suitcases. While you might be afraid that this would compromise the amount of storage space that you have access to, the goal is to keep this space intact while also trimming down any excess weight where it is possible. This may not seem like a huge deal at first, but you’ll never want to go back to your old, beast of a suitcase once you test out one of the new lightweight models.
When you’re traveling, every extra pound counts for something. And, as you pack more and more clothes, the weight of your luggage will only go up. So, if you can have a starting weight of a very minimal amount, you’ll be able to put a lot less strain on yourself when it comes time to haul that full suitcase around with you wherever you go. Skyway Luggage took note of this, and that’s why the company did everything they could to make the Mirage Superlight one of the lightest weight suitcases that you’ll probably ever come into contact with.
Skyway has been around in the suitcase and luggage world since way back in 1910, and the experience the company has gained over the years truly does shine through with the Mirage Superlight. Along with having an incredibly lightweight design, the Mirage Superlight is also surprisingly durable. Normal wear and tear of bumps, hard impacts, and whatever else won’t make that much of an impression at all on the Mirage Superlight, something we can’t say we would have expected from a suitcase this lightweight.
In addition to its lightweight and durable construction, the Mirage Superlight also has a rather spacious interior for storing all of your belongings. Along with being plenty roomy, the interior also comes equipped with full-length mesh pockets. So, when it comes time to pack valuables that are small and prone to getting lost, you can rest easy knowing that you have a specific storage area that’s made just for them and nothing else. Combine this with the ability to expand the Mirage Superlight to get even more storage space, and the deal becomes even sweeter.
However, the sweetness doesn’t stop there. If Skyway Luggage’s Mirage Superlight sounds like something you might be interested in, we have a feeling that that hankering will only be exemplified when you hear the price. All of this can be yours for under $100, making this have a phenomenal bang for your buck. If you’re someone who’s constantly on the hunt for a great bargain, this will definitely be a product you’ll want to check out.
Delsey Luggage Helium Aero Expandable Spinner Trolley (25”)
As with any product that you encounter, there seems to be two distinctive paths for companies to take when it comes to the creation process of their products – having them specialize in one specific area, or try to be the jack of all trades. One of these paths is not necessarily better than the other, and each one pays off in a different manner depending on a few factors.
First of all, we need to think about what kind of company we’re dealing with. Since this is clearly a review of suitcases, we’ll focus on that realm of the spectrum. Let’s say that we’ve got a company who is known for creating extremely lightweight bits of luggage. If the company sticks to that, they’re probably fine. However, let’s say that they then try to venture out to create a suitcase that primarily focuses on being incredibly durable. While there’s a chance for this to pay off, it’s quite unlikely if this isn’t an area where the company specializes – especially if they’ve already found their expertise in another area.
Now, what about companies that try to make their product be a pro in as many different areas and categories as possible? One such brand that set out to achieve this goes by the name of Delsey Luggage, and the piece of luggage in question that they attempted this with is the company’s Helium Aero Expandable Spinner Trolley. Despite coming in at a surprisingly affordable price of under $150, the Helium Aero has quite a lot going for it in virtually every category.
To kick things off, let’s first talk about how lightweight the Helium Aero is. This particular suitcase is constructed out of 100% polycarbonate, and this helps to make the Helium be as lightweight as its name might suggest. This makes it the best suitcase for women. However, it also allows for the suitcase to be quite durable. Along with being lightweight, polycarbonate is also very well-known for being a rather durable material. As a result, cracks shouldn’t prove to be an area of concern for you at all in this case.
Secondly, Delsey’s Helium Aero also does a remarkable job at allowing users to pack and store an absurd amount of clothes and other belongings into this particular suitcase. How did the company achieve this though? Well, rather than stopping at just one, Delsey decided to include two full-sized packing compartments into the Helium Aero. And, as if that wasn’t enough, there’s also a special, closed-off area for your smaller, more valuable belongings that have an easy tendency to get lost during the packing process. Combine this with a lock that’s approved by the TSA, further expandable storage space, and a surprisingly great spinner system, and Delsey really hit the nail on the head when trying to have it all with the Helium Aero.
Nautica Ahoy 28” Hardside Spinner
It should go without a doubt that, when you purchase a suitcase or any item of luggage, it should be one that fits all of your needs from a functional standpoint. If you’re someone who tends to pack the kitchen sink and then some when you travel, you’re obviously going to want to opt for something that has plenty of storage space inside to hold all of your clothes, electronics, valuables, souvenirs, and anything else that you tend to bring with you. Similarly, if you’re a person who tends to be rough with your luggage, you’re going to want to check out what your options are for a suitcase that’s made to withstand some of the toughest conditions out there.
While each suitcase essentially sets out to do the same thing, every single one does so in a unique and special way from everything else that’s already out there. Whether that be by placing extra emphasis on the spinner system, overall durability, or how lightweight the product is, there are a variety of ways for luggage companies to go about doing this.
But let’s setp back for a second. Let’s say that you’re someone who really just needs the bare minimum from your suitcase when looking at it from a functionality standpoint. You don’t need a crazy amount of room inside, and you don’t need it to be the most durable on the planet. Instead, you’re someone who places a great deal of emphasis on the outward appearance of your suitcase. Although this isn’t the biggest deal for a lot of folks out there, there is certainly a market for suitcase that are made with a fashion-forward mindset. One such suitcase that sets out to satisfy this market is the Nautica Ahoy 28” Hardside Spinner.
Nautica is a company that’s primarily involved with creating premium and fashionable clothes for men and women, and that strong sense of fashion and style shines through quite powerfully with the Ahoy. The overall design is quite minimalistic, yet sleek and powerful at the same time. The Navy/Lighthouse Yellow color looks downright gorgeous, and this combined with the textured exterior and Nautica logo down the front side create for a true masterpiece.
And, along with these good looks, Nautica also made sure to make a suitcase that was surprisingly functional at the same time. Although this doesn’t have quite as much storage space as most people will want, the incredibly durable zippers and amazingly smooth spinner system combine with the stunning design to create one incredible offering. There’s certainly function to be found within the Nautica Ahoy, but maybe not as much as some people would like. Then again, this is suitcase made first and foremost to look good, while worrying about function later on.
With so much time focused on the design you might expect for the price tag to have taken a bit of a beating during this process. Thankfully, that isn’t necessary the case here. The Nautica Ahoy is great option as well for those looking for a high-quality suitcase on a budget.
Tips, Tricks and Advice
Believe it or not, the world of suitcases and luggage is a bit more expansive and varied than one might initially think. And you know what? We completely understand and get this. It can be incredibly easy to look at a few suitcases, and think that the only real difference comes in how each one looks. This is a common pitfall that a lot of people fall into, but this couldn’t be further from the truth at all.
Just like any product that you set out to buy, each and every suitcase is made to be unique and different in some way, shape, or form from the rest of its competition. There are a number of ways for this to be achieved, and some of the ways that company’s do this isn’t the easiest thing to see right off the bat. In order to really understand the exact details and differentiating factors behind each and every suitcase out there, there’s actually a surprising amount of research that needs to take place. Although this process may seem daunting and boring at first, the end result will always be well worth it. Putting just a few minutes into conducting solid research can be the main difference between whether or not you purchase a suitcase that’s actually going to meet and satisfy all of you needs.
That might be all fine and dandy, but that begs the question “How do I know what to look for when conducting this research?”. It’s a perfectly reasonable question to ask at this point, and that’s where we come in to help. We’re fully aware that most people out there don’t know everything to keep an eye out for when it comes time to purchase their next suitcase or piece of luggage, so that’s why we’ve constructed this sort of tips and tricks guide. Even if you aren’t ready to buy right this very second, this is still a great guide to use as a reference point when you start getting ready to think about throwing down some cash on a new suitcase for yourself or a loved one.
Because there are so many different categories and factors to keep in mind when it comes time to shop around for your new suitcase, we’ve broken up these tips and tricks into different categories to make it easier for you to understand just what we’re talking about here.
Weight
There’s no denying that, because of their nature, suitcase are relatively big items that we shop for. These are the tools we use to pack and store all of our things when we set out to travel for business and personal matters, so it only makes sense as to why they have a tendency to be quite large. However, despite their size, that doesn’t mean they have to be heavy. Most people just assume that all suitcases are naturally heavy, but this is certainly not the case. In fact, suitcases have gotten surprisingly lightweight in their design and build construction over the years!
Thanks to the use of high-end materials and redesigned frames, luggage manufacturers have been able to decrease the overall weight of their products more than ever before. And, if you’re someone who does a lot of walking with your luggage, this is huge. The longer your carry or pull your suitcase, the more likely it is to cause some level of strain on you. So, the lighter your suitcase is, the less likely you are to encounter that strain or discomfort.
Durability
Durability is another key area to keep an eye on when you conduct your shopping, and it comes with some very good reasoning. First of all, your suitcase is used to house all of your most prized and needed possessions when it comes time for you to embark on your journey. Since you place such a great value on these items, it’s important to make sure that your new suitcase will be tough enough to supply them with an ample amount of protection from the outside world. Whether that be from keeping unwanted moisture out or added special protectors on the corners, there are a variety of ways to ensure that your belongings will be housed in maximum protection from unwanted elements.
Similarly, the durability of the actual suitcase itself is equally important. While you might baby that $1000 laptop in your bag, no one wants to have to baby their suitcase as well. When you’re running late for a flight and need to get to your terminal as fast as you possibly can, your suitcase is the last thing you want to have to keep your mind on. Buying a suitcase that’s rated to hold up throughout many years of use will do a great deal to save you from unwanted headaches and stress later on down the road.
Storage
All travel trips are different from one another. Some folks just need to pack for a business trip that will last a day or two, while other people will need to pack a suitcase to sustain them for a two-week vacation. If you’re a person who has a tendency to take long trips, or simply have a habit to pack the kitchen sink with you whenever you go about traveling, you’re going to want to ensure that your new suitcase has plenty of storage room for you to keep all of your belongings.
Most people tend to think that every suitcase out there will have plenty of storage space and compartments for their things, but each suitcase has a different interior in regards to both size and additional compartments for packing. Be sure to read through user reviews of how big the inside actually is, as this will greatly help you when determining whether or not a particular piece of luggage will suit your needs.
Price
And, finally, price. When you begin shopping for luggage, it can be easy to get the idea that you need to spend a heap of money in order to get a quality product.
